The Mesan Alignment members...I'm sensing a theme here.

The leaders of the Mesan Alignment worlds are listed in Chapter 39 of
Mission of Honor. They are:

Manerheim - President Stanley Hurskainen
Second Chance - Chancellor Walter Ford
New Madagascar - King Clinton Tompson III
[World not mentioned] - Chairman Joan Kubrick
Line System - President Anton Polanski
Visigoth - President Roman Hitchcock
Democratic Republic of Thrace - Chief Counsel Nikomedes Kakedelis
Directorate of New Orkney - Director Vincent Stone
Comstock Republic - President Rebecca Monticelli
Republic of New Bombay Chancellor Robert Tarantino
Marquisate of Denver - Reynaldo Lucas.


Looks like Flint's movie obsession is spilling over. I recognized 6 of
them as being named for film directors, and a little look for the others
in IMDB gave me a seventh prominent director, whose name I hadn't been
familiar with.

The only three who don't seem to be named for film directors are
Hurskainen, Kakedelis, and Monticelli, though Hurskainen's first name is
Stanley (to go with Kubrick)

(Tompson is the one I had to look up. He directed almost 50 films,
including the original Cape Fear, The Guns of Navarone, and a couple of
Planet of the Apes movies.)

The only worlds of the Alignment that I can recall being mentioned
before are Manerheim, and Visigoth. Visigoth is the Solarian end of the
wormhole that goes to Mesa, about 60 LY from Beowulf.

And Manerheim seems to have a rather large SD composed of rather more modern
units than the SLN or does it? Let us say at least part of it seems likely
to be.
