Are ARCs worth it?

OK, should I buy the ARC for A Rising Thunder, considering that I've
already ordered the hardcover that will be out in March?

I know that there probably will be differences between the two, but is it
worth the money to get the ARC and read both versions?

It's not about differences, it's about when.

How many people who read the ARCs also buy the books when they come out a
few months later?

I know plenty who purchase the regular ebook as well as the EARC (Electronic
ARC) and there are plenty who purchase the regular book as well as the EARC.

I've not purchasing the dead tree much but get both the EARC and the regular
ebook.

OK, other than getting to read it earlier, what advantages to the
reader/consumer are there in buying an EARC?

I'm not trying to be argumentative; I'm tying to find out whether it is
worth my limited financial resources. I'll continue to buy the dead-tree
versions of Honorverse because I have so many of them already, that I'd
like to keep the set in the same format. (Even though some are hardback and
some are paperback; they all still fit on the bookshelf.)

If I was more limited in my finances, then I'd not purchase the EARC.

The only reason I get the EARCs is get the book early and to give the author
a little extra of my money.

Now, for you I'd suggest that you get the $6.00 e-version in March (from
www.webscription.net) and purchase the paperback later.

I might as well get the hardback; it won't cost much more than the
E-version plus the paperback. It's about $15, including tax, from B&N.

Probably just as well. Having purchased a few eARC's, the only real
benefit (outside of giving more money to Baen) is that I get to read
it before most people do. Your hardback copy may have a CD with the
ebooks in them anyway, so you'll have all versions to hand.

As someone who did buy the eARC for this one, I'll just say that
you're as well off waiting.
