If I got this right a two stage missile that fires from missile tubes with a
second stage sprint drive used at the battle of Congo/Torch.

Where an how are the people running the Torch navy supposed to get parts and
missiles for the ships given them?

Wall-Mart. Remember, Torch is a non-aligned nation. So it gets
assistance from Manticore in an attempt to influence the Torch
Government towards them; and From Haven for similar reasons. I would
not be surprised is a certain amount of aid also comes from the
Solarian League, for just the same reasons.

Just about the time you finally see light at the end of the tunnel,
you find out it's a Government Project to build more tunnel.

You have a point. I'd also think the star nations of the companies doing
business with them might be willing to be of some help. The Talbot System
seems like a good place to purchase equipment from if the major players are
too busy. It is also a non-aligned star nation.

Only the ex-SLN battlecruisers that were provided to the refugee SS
had been retrofitted to use those missiles. None survived the
battle. Thus no problem.

They could apply to a friendly Frontier fleet command for support
of the few surviving ex-SLN destroyers. The rest were ex-Haven SS
and I suspect that Theisman could dig up the spare parts for those.

Of course, the real problem with every single one of those ships is
that they each have an undocumented destruct charge and the Mesan
Alignment has the command codes for everyone of those.

I think the Mesa defense force uses the same thing as the SLN in a slightly
degraded form purchased from the League military hardware suppliers so Torch
could most likely buy supplies from a lot of system defense forces. Getting
the better stuff sold to Frontier Fleet would seem to be the right way to go
if you could get them. However somebody like the Talbot System might
actually be able to make something that would work with your equipment with
a little more range. I'm sure they would cost more.

More than likely.

next heart pounding sequel!
